Inspired by the movie "Dragonheart." I had watched this movie recently and thought it would be neat to make my own version. =============================== Dedicated to a favorite watcher of mine:
Well, first I really like the idea of the picture. The dragon holding woman's hand is a very nice concept! Also the composition with the two at every side and the dragon comes from the top, so the heart can be the center of the picture, where watchers eyes goes first. The greates part of the picture is at the center top, where her and his face met. It's great how they look each other in the eyes! Also the coloration is lovely. I really love this tone in tone violet colors! But you want a critique and so some thoughts: What disturb me by the concept of the picture is that: She has a very dark dress, mostly the skirt is just a black space. But she stands infront of a door with moon shining through it. Even if she have a wonderful black dress, moon would leave his light on it. Mainly because the left part beneath her is bright so the light comes even in this darker part, too. It's just a bit too much dark contrast. I watched the orginal model stock. I think if you just make your model here a little bit brighter at all and do some light lines at the contoures of it, it would be very beautiful. (Just use Soft Light or Overlay and paint some light with a big soft brush at the controures). You could highlight the wrinkles of the dress with doge tool and do the shadow parts with durn tool, so you would get the same contrast level like the whole picture have without having the dress beeing such a flat black part.
